Terms and Conditions of Entry

 

ENTRIES CLOSE 4pm Tuesday 22 November 2022

 

ARTWORK DELIVERY: 
Friday 2 and Saturday 3 December, 10am–3pm

All artists in the Albury-Wodonga region are welcome to enter. 

 

All accepted work will be exhibited from 6 December 2022 to 14 January 2023 and will be available for purchase throughout the exhibition.

 

 

ELIGIBILITY

​

• Artwork must not exceed 35 x 35cm in size, including framing or base/support (2D or 3D)

• Artists can enter up to 4 artworks

• Artists at all stages of their career are encouraged to enter but must live in our regional area.

• 2D and 3D artwork will be accepted, in any medium

• The artwork must be available for exhibition from 6th December 2022 to 14th January 2023

• Artwork must be delivered to GIGS Art Gallery during the prescribed times of
10am to 3pm Friday 2nd or Saturday 3rd December.

• By entering, you are confirming that you are the creator and owner of the entered artwork(s)

• The artwork will be judged by no less than 3 independent judges. The decision of the judges is final

• All artworks will be available for purchase throughout the exhibition and prices must include the 30% commission rate payable to GIGS Art Gallery.

 

 

GIGS Art Gallery reserves the right to refuse to accept and display artwork(s) if:

 

• The artwork is not of sufficient artistic or technical merit.

• The 2D work is not appropriately presented/framed, with appropriate D rings and wire attached to the back for hanging.

• The artwork is larger than 35cm x 35cm, in any direction (height/width/depth), including framing or base/support

• The artwork poses a safety risk

• The artwork could be considered offensive in terms of pornographic content, character denigration, racial or religious prejudice.

ENTRY

​

• Entries close 4pm Tuesday 22nd November 2022

• Download Entry Form here or pick up a printed Entry Form at GIGS Art Gallery.

• All artworks must be delivered to GIGS Art Gallery during the prescribed times of 10am to 3pm Friday 2nd or Saturday 3rd December and MUST have an entry label attached to the back of the artwork and be clearly labelled.

• One entry form may be submitted for all 4 works, however each work MUST have an artwork ENTRY LABEL on the back.

ENTRY FEES

​

MEMBERS: $15 entry fee + $5 per artwork


NON-MEMBERS: $25 entry fee + $5 per artwork

JUDGING

 

• Judges will select one 2D work and one 3D work to be awarded prizes to the value of $200 to be made up of cash or vouchers at the organiser’s discretion.

• Prize winners will be announced at the Opening Night on Friday 9th December 6–8pm

• At the time of publishing this document, the Little Moments 2022 Judges are yet to be confirmed.

    

 

HANDLING

 

All artworks will be handled with utmost care by experienced staff. However, GIGS Art Gallery will not be held responsible for any loss or damage caused while work is in transit to and from the gallery.

IMAGE REPRODUCTION

 

Entrants agree to allow GIGS Art Gallery to reproduce (photograph) entered artwork in all publicity and promotion of Little Moments. This does not affect the copyright of the work.

Images of the artwork may be published on the GIGS Art Gallery website and social media sites.

    

 

OPENING EVENT

 

An opening will be held on Friday 9th December 6pm to 8pm; all entrants are invited to attend. This event is open to the public.  The organisers will provide refreshments. Prizes will be announced on this night.

    

 

COLLECTION OF ARTWORKS

 

The exhibition closes on Saturday 14th January 2023. Unsold works can be collected after 2pm on the 14th of January or the following Tuesday or Wednesday during the gallery’s normal business hours.

    

All artworks need to be collected ASAP after the exhibition closes.
