John Lamb
My goal within my medium of photography has been to create visually three dimensional work in a two dimensional medium. I use the lighting, either natural or studio, to create texture and mood. Selecting a pallet of greyscale tones (the Zone system) or a colour range to present a mood. Arranging the graphic elements to communicate the story of the photograph. Although trained technically I was always looking for the serendipitous extension, the art element that creates a depth to an image.
This large scale exhibition is Italian landscapes and seascapes of the Cinque Terre.
I wish to move my practice into more personal art expression.
My background has been as a commercial photographer (20 years). I started in print media and then my studio in Port Melbourne 2000–2015. We closed the studio and moved to Wodonga in 2015. I then assisted other artists with bio portraits and technical photos of their works for print and social media and have been curating several artists’ work over the last few years.
