In a moving tribute to resilience, creativity and compassion, the upcoming Country Hope Art Auction & Exhibition at Gateway Gallery this June will shine a light on the power of community – and the healing force of art. Attendees will have the opportunity to acquire original artworks by local artists as well as works by participating in a live and silent auction on the night. Food, drinks and entertainment will be available to enjoy.

The initiative, spearheaded by local artist Pauline Farries, comes on the heels of her extraordinary 2023 donation of 60 original artworks to Country Hope, a local charity providing crucial support to children with life-threatening illnesses and their families. That retrospective proved a heartfelt success – and now, in a poignant turn, Pauline, who was diagnosed with a terminal cancer and passed away this year, has lead a new wave of generosity.

Inspired by Paul’s courage and creativity, Murray NSW and North East VIC artists are coming together to contribute their own works to the exhibition. From watercolours and acrylics to photography, mosaics and mixed media, the collection promises to be as diverse and vibrant as the community it represents.

Murray Arts, in partnership with Gateway Gallery, are coordinating the exhibition and event with Real Estate Stean Nicholls conducting the Live Auction. Executive Director Lauren Black reflected on her first meeting with Pauline: “I was amazed at how prolific she was as well as the diversity and vibrancy of her art. We are humbled to be able to support this wonderful cause.”

Join us this 14 June at Gateway Gallery to celebrate art, community, and the enduring impact of generosity.
