BEECHWORTH BOTANICAL ART GROUP

This beautiful exhibition of botanical art has been brought to you by artists from the north east. The artists in this group have met regularly for many years at the Wooragee Hall, outside Beechworth in Victoria.
Botanical artists have a close relationship with nature in the creation of a painting. A spirit of discovery remains a crucial starting point in their aim to bring the details and very essence of a plant to life. The skill is to ensure that the plant’s unique characteristics are represented as accurately as possible.
Because botanical art is rendered in so exquisite a manner it has become a treasured art form that is both a pleasure to look at and an inspiring way of recording nature’s precious plant diversity.
